Enough to share

When my daughter Serena was 3 years old I had a "shazam" in my kitchen.
As I cleared her dinner plate from the kitchen table and walked over to the trashcan to throw away a bit of food she had left, she screamed "no mama!!!"
Holy moly, I thought. "Serena, what's wrong?"-- "There's enough to share for the racoons."
The racoons.
From that moment onward, the notion of 'enough to share' became a lens through which I began to see things around me-- through the eyes of my precious three-year-old.
I soon realized: there is enough in this world- enough food, enough housing, enough resources, enough money.
And then, I met Cal King.
Cal was the founder of NUF- a little orange plush character with a timeless message; "you are a nuf!" (enough).
The fact that Cal and Serena passed away from this precious planet 2 months apart is not lost on me. But their legacy and 'enough-ness' is so vast, somedays that's all I can see.
